As a singer, when performing English translations, Peter Clarke often had to sing the unsingable and sometimes the incomprehensible. As a conductor he finds that much time is often taken revising and adjusting existing translations to make them suitable for performance. For these reasons, and because of his enthusiasm for opera in English, he decided to write and publish his own translations.

They stay faithful to the original text, but contain none of the horrors of the turn of the century translations. They are entirely singable with much attention paid to matching speech rhythms with the music. Since all translations have been commissioned they have been proven in performance and are now performed regularly throughout the UK.

Complete vocal scores are available from £15.50 each for Companies or Societies performing the work or £16.50 for single copies. Chorus copies are available for hire for most of the works.

Performing fees are competitive and reasonable and full orchestral material is available for hire as well as reduced orchestrations for smaller venues.
